Couple Counselling

Bring out the best in each other

Are you feeling unhappy in your relationship?

Do all conversations end with arguments?

Would you like your relationship to be stronger?

What’s going on?

Your relationship feels strained, unhappy and stuck in a negative cycle. There’s blame, anger and frustration on both sides, and your best friend has become someone you can barely tolerate. You’ve gone from holding hands to rolling your eyes at each other.

How I can help

The therapy room will be a safe space for you and your partner. Together we’ll discuss what you are experiencing; with no blame, escalation, negativity or historical baggage. We will talk about the issues that have been leading to arguments, but in a constructive and understanding way. We’ll talk about how safe you feel in your relationship, the levels of trust you have in each other and how well you know (as opposed to think you know) what the other wants. This work will be tangible and based around examples from your everyday life.

With the work we do in the room you’ll learn that your marriage can take an infinite variety of paths, and that you can invest in your relationship and find the path that works for both of you and fulfils your needs. You’ll both accept responsibility for taking positive actions.

When our sessions end

In time, you will understand why you’ve stopped making your relationship a priority and you’ll learn how to prioritise it, in the right way for you, for good. You’ll use curiosity not anger to communicate and will be able to challenge and let go of the habitual negative automatic thoughts and feelings you’ve been experiencing. You’ll be able to identify what you want and express that to your partner clearly, precisely and confidently. Through acceptance you’ll gain the commitment and ability to develop new behaviours which will enable your relationship to blossom and grow.
